This book with the title "Translation and Intercultural Transfer in Popular Music: Juliane Werding's CD 'Star Collection'" is a study with empirical character. It deals with English or American original texts of popular music, that have been translated into German. At first, scientific methods of translating lyrics are introduced. Subsequently, seven songs in German language of Juliane Werding's CD are analysed and interpreted according to these methods. Furthermore, they are compared to their appropriate original texts in English language. This book does not only face up to the language, but also to the intercultural circumstances and differences. Language can never stand alone, it always has to be embedded into a cultural relationship.
