Although rare, brain tumors are the most common solid tumor in children. Each year in the United States, nearly 3,500 children and adolescents under the age of 20 are diagnosed with a primary brain tumor. Brain tumors in children are very different from those arising in adults and vary from one another with respect to age at diagnosis, aggressiveness, and location.
