Relatively to its size, Israel is very involved inInternational Business. The Israeli high tech industry is wellpositioned among the top five world leaders in the field.Israelwhile small is experiencing a constant growth in expatriatemanagers. Israel is part of the Western World and yet there islittle research related to the activities of Israeli MultinationalCorporations, to Israeli Expatriate Management, or to tacitknowledge transfer activities of Israeli expatriate managers.Retention of Israeli expatriate managers upon completion of theirassignments has also not been examined. This study examines theactivity of Israeli expatriate managers in transferring tacitknowledge to home offices during their assignments . While onassignment, an expatriate manager acquire valuable knowledge.Should this knowledge be lost because of attrition, upon completionof an assignment, this would cause an considerable loss to thecompany. Hence the use for a study on retention.
