Book synopsis

What is the source of the martyrdom of the Jewish people and to what do they bear witness ? What was the basis of the relationship between Judaism and the avant-garde theories associated with their testimony that caused Nazi totalitarianism to target them with its hatred ?Jewish tradition, avant-garde movements and totalitarianism are mutually clarifying. The purpose of the artist is to manage to invent a personality. The individual is the Archimedian fulcrum of world transformation and, in his or her relation to the absolute, the focus of the evaluation. It is this priority, much more than mere preoccupation with the reinvention of forms, that is dealt with in this book. The resulting interpretation has as much to do with the work of Kandinsky as it does with that of Malévitch or Schwitters, dada films, Eisenstein movies, or even the work of Man Ray. This new interpretation even manages to clarify one of the most puzzling works of the last century : that of Duchamp.Totalitarianism is not just an historical phenomenon, it is also the expression of contemporary conscience, its art, its collective communication, and its architectural system. Totalitarian falsification can be discerned as starkly in the invention of a counterfeit transcendency as in the evaluative indifference that, today, relegates the appraisal of art to monetary abstraction or a general consensus. This book invites readers to seek a new way of evaluating our culture and strives to provide them with the necessary tools.
