According to the OMS estimation, on the developing countries the iron deficiency anaemia affects close to 36% of the population, as long as on the developed countries its occurrence remains round 8%. Amongst the nutritional anaemias , iron deficiency anaemia is the most common, followed by megaloblastica anaemia , caused by , vitamin B12 or folic acid deficiency, that are essential for erythropoiesis.
