The encapsulation of Acyclovir with polymeric nanopatch could be an effective approach for producing a sustained release of the drug making it suitable for oral or other routes of administration such as intrapulmonary or intravitreal.developed multilayered nanofiber formulation was found to show controlled delivery of antiviral drug (Acyclovir). The formulation showed pH-responsive drug release at small intestine and colon system. In pharmacokinetic studies in rats, developed formulation exerted sustain release with improved pharmacokinetic profile.
