Book synopsis

Amba Barwa sanctuary of Satpuda ranges of Maharashtra was surveyed frequently covering all the seasons throughout the years for collection of medicinally important plants. Medicinal plants were selected on the basis of discussions with the traditional healers of Amba Barwa sanctuary of Buldana district. The effort was to establish traditional folkloric information about medicinal plants by carrying actual scientific experimentation. This prompted scientific evaluation of plants from Amba-Barwa sanctuary as a source of potential chemotherapeutic agents, based on their ethno medicinal use against bacterial infections. Analyzing Antibacterial and phytochemicals in medicinal plants provides an insight into how effective plants are medicinally, and understanding how and why they are effective can lead to the development of new medicines. Present book will be helpful for the researchers in the field of Ethnobotany and Phytochemistry.
