In recent years, the number of products containing complex shapes that are produced by tooling known as dies and moulds have grown noticeably. The quality, costs and lead-time of these products are strongly influenced by the manufacturing process of these toolings. The more complex the product shape, the more intensive has the work to be expanded. The development of CAD/CAM systems and High Speed Cutting Technology (HSC) have greatly helped to improve the manufacturing of such kinds of dies and mould. However, technological limitations in the CAD/CAM/CNC to produce free form geometries have shown some significant drawbacks.
