Der Band versammelt 21 wissenschaftliche Beiträge zum aktuellen Stand der praktischen Arbeit, der Lehre und der Forschung im Bereich der Kodikologie (Handschriftenkunde) und Paläographie (Schriftkunde) und ihrer Weiterentwicklung unter den Bedingungen einer zunehmend digitalen Welt. New information technologies help in realizing old dreams of codicological and palaeographical scholarship but also lead to new hopes and wishes. How long will it be before we are able to carry out automatic text recognition of medieval manuscripts?
