In this January 2009 interview MAJ Ed Twaddell, Infantry, discusses his deployment to Iraq as the company commander of Alpha Company 2-7 CAV in March 2004. MAJ Twaddell describes his movement into theater, the difficultly his company had upon their arrival, and his movements throughout theater. MAJ Twaddell details some of the firefights that he and his company were involved in and describes the loss of two of his Soldiers during a violent incident in Fallujah. MAJ Twaddell concludes his interviewing by stating the lessons he learned while in theater and the vital role that family readiness groups (FRG) play in the support of families in the rear as well as Soldiers downrange.
