Gerwald Rockenschaub a conçu tout spécialement pour cette monographie un cahier d'images digitales qui sont comme les abstracts iconiques des signes que déverse en flux continus notre époque. L'auteur Michel Gauthier a écrit de nombreux textes sur l'art et la littérature. Publiant régulièrement dans Les Cahiers du Musée national d'art moderne (Centre Pompidou), il est l'auteur de différents ouvrages dont L'anarchème, Le facteur vitesse et Les promesses du zéro, ainsi que l'un des éditeurs de la revue française 20/27. Il enseigne l'histoire de l'art à l'Université de Paris IV-Sorbonne. The book Gerwald Rockenschaub has been a key figure on the European art scene since the mid-1980s. Initially linked to the Neo-Geo movement, his art gradually developed towards an extremely accomplished meditation on the exhibition venue. Between pop and techno aesthetics and a rational approach to the spatial and institutional context, between Andy Warhol and Michael Asher, Rockenschaub decisively calls into question the great divisions of contemporary artistic thought. Born in Linz, Austria, he lives and works in Berlin. For this monograph, Gerwald Rockenschaub has specially designed a section of digital images that are like iconic abstracts of the signs poured out by our times in unbroken streams. The author Michel Gauthier has written extensively on contemporary art and literature. He is the author of L'anarchème, Le facteur vitesse and Les promesses du zéro, an editor of the French review 20 / 27 and a frequent contributor to Les Cahiers du Musée national d'art moderne (Centre Pompidou). He teaches the art history at Paris IV-Sorbonne University.
