Carl von Clausewitz, un militar prusiano, asiste a esta derrota de laestructura ya obsoleta e ineficiente de su ejército. Es un interesadode la teoría de la guerra y finalmente escribe Vom Kriege (De laguerra), un tratado que cambia para siempre el modo de combatir nosolo de los prusianos, sino de todos los ejércitos europeos.
