In the course of European integration administrative law has become increasingly detached from its national origins. At first, the administrative law of the European Community developed on the basis of juridical principles shared by all member states. By now, however, the national administrative laws themselves are subject to a distinct European impact. This edition analyses the ways and means by which European law influences the legal systems of the member states. The book tries to answer the question how far there already exists a convergence amongst the national administrative laws in Europe and in how far this constitutes a "ius commune Europaeum" in the field of administrative law. Furthermore, the book looks at practical administrative questions to judge if a codification of principles for the indirect administration of Community law by the Member states is advisable in order to promote legal coherence and fair competition within the internal market. A book for readers interested in economics, politics, administration and law. With contributions in German, English and French.
