The contributions contained in this book highlight novel solutions for the treatment and assessment of wood in its many forms, ranging from historical paintings, to ceiling decorations, from Syrian rooms to ancient Egyptian coffins. Technical studies of painted works are presented together with research on new methods for their monitoring and analysis. The book covers consolidation and impregnation, structural support, conservation materials, techniques, advanced documentation and analysis, as well as conservation and assessment of archeological wood.
