Book synopsis

This book reveals that the business and direction of Islamic banks today tend to focus merely on individual objectives and bear no correlation with national economic objectives. At the same time, the Islamic banks performance is considered stagnant. Micro-Macro circular causal model based on the Tawhidi String Relationship methodology, showed that the Islamic banks able to address its business performance while also driving the society's wellbeing. Analysis was using Indonesia as the case study. This model generated clearly proved the Islamic bank able to perform its two prominent roles, namely: (1) as a financial intermediary; and (2) as a social agent to improve social well-being wherever Islamic banks exist.
